The Vancouver Canucks announced today that their star goaltender, Roberto Luongo, will be day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Canucks coach, Alain Vigneault, wouldn’t say when the injury occurred or how severe it is.
An injury to their starting goaltender doesn’t affect the Canucks as much as it would many other teams in the league. They possess one of the most talented backup goalies in the league in Cory Schneider. He will get the start Wednesday night versus the Chicago Blackhawks and most likely the next few starts if Luongo isn’t ready to go.
